Man shoots Wife and surrenders to Police in Baguihati: alleges extramarital affair as motive

A shocking incident unfolded in the early hours of Monday in the Narayanpur area of Baguihati when a man allegedly shot his wife and then surrendered himself at the local police station. The victim, identified as Tumpa Ghosh, tragically lost her life in the incident.

According to neighbors who witnessed the aftermath, the morning calm was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Rushing to the scene, they discovered Tumpa Ghosh lying on the ground, her body drenched in blood from two gunshot wounds. Startled by the incident, the accused promptly locked his house and proceeded to the police station to turn himself in. He also handed over the firearm used in the crime to the officers.

Initial investigations suggest that the accused, whose identity is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation, accused his wife of having an extramarital affair, which he claimed led to constant conflicts within their marital relationship.
